About

Incognito my ...There was a bit written on the Theology Debate ning blog about being an acquainted stranger.  It was not archived on my puter and now I have to rephrase since the unfortunate deletion at that site.

My formal anonym is Garrett.

GidjaJuan is a variant of a contemplative theme.

G1 or G-Juan = abbreviations and I kind of like the use of “wind” as short for my common blog name : “windpressor”.

I have a regular family and social life that does not likely intersect with online interactions.  I am more interested in personal expression of ideas and dialogue first.  Recognition and/or relationship may take off (or not) from that.   I have probably done more reading than commenting and more commenting than original blogging.  My original blogging and primary stop for reading the last several years has been at PlanetPreterist.com.  Check there if you are interested in seeing some of my thought deployment.

I lack speed in composing and thus have often as not found that by the time of gathering thought sufficient to percolate to page, the current relevance  of  a post has scrolled past or been so heavily commented on that what I might add is insignificant.  In a cosmic perspective, bucket loads of blog texts don’t make a whole lot more impact than my little bit of spittle in the big ocean of thought or nought.

I believe we are all strangers.

I have heard it commended of someone: “He/She never knew a stranger”.  And that person would be extolled for the virtues of hospitality to unfortunates and known for nursing any hurting stray or bandaging a bird foundling’s broken wing.

It is OK to look at others thusly.  I think it says much the same, but in an obverse way, to recognize and acknowledge that even our most intimate relationships are between strangers that happen to know more of each other.  Even if I were to work and live with an 80-year-old twin, we would yet remain strangers even though strangers of greater familiarity.

Except for those with a very cloistered or close knit daily life, I think most would have to admit that modern life is full of marketplace encounters with people of no, or limited levels of, acquaintance.  Perceiving that should temper such encounters with respect.

As a practical operating premise, I can be a bit more objective, independent, cordial or contrary or creative as I might be induced to interact.  Such a baseline of acceptance also facilitates the 2nd greatest command.  And if you accept the truth of  Revelation 21:3, there is but a singular command to love any and all as neighbor.
